About
We are the Junior League of Lower Columbia
Our purpose is to advance women’s leadership and create lasting, positive change throughout Southwest Washington. Through leadership development, volunteer service, and meaningful community engagement, we empower women with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to make a measurable impact in the communities we serve. By investing in women leaders, we strengthen nonprofits, build stronger partnerships, and help create a more vibrant and resilient Lower Columbia region.
Strength in Numbers
As a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. (AJLI), the Junior League of Lower Columbia is part of a global network of women dedicated to developing leaders and strengthening communities. Our organization began in 1947 as the Longview Junior Service League, serving Southwest Washington through volunteer leadership and community service for more than seven decades. In 2021, we proudly affiliated with AJLI and became the Junior League of Lower Columbia, expanding opportunities for leadership development, collaboration, and community impact while honoring our longstanding local legacy. Today, we continue to build on that foundation by developing women leaders and supporting initiatives that improve the lives of those throughout Southwest Washington.

Our Local Impact
Our work is centered on improving the lives of women, children, and families throughout the Lower Columbia region by responding to community needs with meaningful service, strategic partnerships, and hands-on volunteerism. We support programs that provide meals for children when school is out of session, help send youth to summer camp so families have access to safe, enriching childcare while parents work, promote body positivity and healthy lifestyles, strengthen after-school programs, expand access to life-changing medical care, and invest in higher education through scholarships. Each year, we also host Confidently You: Middle School Girls’ Night, an event that empowers young girls through mentorship, leadership development, and activities that build confidence, resilience, and self-worth.
Help Us Lead Change
There is always more work to be done, more help needed, and more opportunities to make an impact in Cowlitz County. The empowered women of the Junior League of Lower Columbia are working to improve our local communities through leadership and effective action. Will you join us?
